Ethan Hawke talks about what connects us all as human beings, art as sustenance, and the role of the artists. Whenever I feel the doubt creeping back in, I sit down and listen.
One of my favorite pieces of longer-form corporate marking. Such beauty and powerful messaging in a small package. The fact that you can make people feel for characters and suck them into another person’s life so quickly and effectively is something that always inspires me.
A little mockumentary piece that is just perfect in every way. I love the visual style, the performances, and the dry comedy is like my favorite thing in the world. Love, love, love.
The song is fantastic. Her voice is legendary. The video is mind-blowing.
Life a great film, a great trailer is a work of art. Visuals, dialogue, music, and sound design are all utilized at once to deliver a one-of-a-kind, encapsulated, beautiful micro-narrative experience. The fact that some trailers end up being better than the movie they advertise should give you a sense of the power they possess. Here’s one of my favorites - the trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road by director George Miller.
I use the Adobe Creative Cloud every day. Most recently, it’s become the tool that has helped me realize my true calling in life and bridge the gap between the images I see in my head and reality. For me, this ad isn’t just about inspiration, it IS inspiration. The edit, the music, the graphics, the sound design all work perfectly together to articulate the feeling of infinite possibility and beauty that we all can share in just by surrendering to what makes us truly happy. Create and share, above all else.
Angus Emerson is an LA-based Creative Director and Editor whose work I ab-so-lute-ly LOVE. He’s inspired me to push the boundaries of my editing abilities, to never become complacent with my learning and development and to always strive to learn new programs and styles. Give theses video a watch and you’ll see what I mean.
Litany is one of my favorite artists and the thing I love most about her is how personal her songs feel when you see her perform them. You can see the emotion on her face and can imagine the thoughts behind her eyes as she relives whatever experience(s) were the inspiration for her music. At least that’s what I like to think :) Combined with the minimalistic feel of the video production, this piece never fails to lift my creative spirits
I love storytelling - that goes without saying. This short from Wolfstreet, an agency in Amsterdam, is a perfect example of everything I love about pure VISUAL storytelling - no dialogue, just images, sound and music. I’m amazed by the power that those three elements have to quickly pull us into stories and help us find the connections in human experience that bind of us all together.
This movie has some of the most striking cinematography and the subject matter and themes explored in it resonate strongly with me. Enjoy the trailer. Watch the film.
